This year, the WK Real Estate team took a trip to the Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado for their Annual Fall Retreat. Each year WK Real Estate hosts the event to provide their broker associates educational seminars and a chance to bond outside of the office. Having the retreat has become a tradition of the company and continues to remain an integral part of the company culture.
Educational and Motivational Speakers
Speaker, Author and World Champion, Dan Brodsky- Chenfeld began the retreat with his inspiring life story in regards to becoming a successful sky diver competitor using individual and team goals, “Above All Else.” CEO and Lead Coach, Hilary Blair presented, “The Art of Communication” that encouraged authentic communication between agents and their clients. Tom Kammer with Value Check, demonstrated how to utilize the Value Check appraisal system and discuss property values with home sellers. Broker Associate, Mark Reuter concluded the retreat with “Lessons Learned- Broker Reflections,” a discussion concerning legal matters within real estate contracts and how to resolve and avoid them. The overall conference gave the agents tools to interact with their business network.

Community outreach
As a bonding exercise, the WK Real Estate Agents formatted assembly lines to hand pack goodie bags filled with basic necessities for those in need in the Boulder community. Lisa Rice, a WK Real Estate Agent, summed up the project perfectly; “I feel so lucky to work with people that care about their community. They were willing to spend their own time and their own money to make this all happen. I was the lead on this project and am really grateful to be a part of this group.” By the end of the afternoon the entire group had successfully organized over 250 bags for the homeless.
Conclusion
At the end of the Breckenridge Retreat, agent feedback was very positive. Many agents proclaimed it the “best retreat yet.” The largest factor being the number of diverse and dynamic speakers, all of which brought something special to the table. All the topics discussed had grounded, applicable content, while keeping it creative and fun. Not only were agents able to take this time to get to know each other, they were also able to return relax, focused, invigorated with knowledge, and looking forward for next years’ retreat.
