Tips for Staging Your Home

What a great spring this has been! As we start the summer, all indications are that the market is definitely picking up and more sellers are now considering selling their home.

As an experienced realtor and stager, I know the importance of staging your home to be in the best “sell now” condition possible. A buyer literally decides in the first 30-60 seconds, upon entering the front door, if he/she is anxious to see the rest of the home!

This post is the first in a series of blogs I will write offering tips for staging your home. Here are some very important things to remember through the process:

First, de-clutter, de-clutter and de-clutter some more! Others should not be able to tell anything about the homeowner’s hobbies, interests or personalities. Even having packed boxes stacked neatly in the garage shows a buyer that you are ready to move on now!

Next, you want to have as much floor space showing as possible. This is done by eliminating most furniture and area rugs. This really does make the rooms look larger!

There are many other tips that I will continue to share but these are really key!

Staging your home is part of my service when putting your property on the market. Please feel free to give me a call and we can chat about the possibilities! Building lasting relationships, one day at a time…
