Sundance Film Festival is coming to Boulder January 21–31, 2027, bringing thousands of filmmakers, industry professionals, and visitors to the community. To help meet the increased demand for lodging, the City of Boulder has introduced the Festival Lodging Program, giving homeowners an opportunity to earn additional income by offering short-term accommodations during the festival.
Homeowners who wish to participate must obtain a Festival Lodging Rental License. They can either work with a Visit Boulder-approved property management company, which can assist with licensing, reservations, and guest services, or manage the rental themselves.
With hotel rooms expected to be in high demand, the program offers an opportunity to generate additional income while helping Boulder welcome one of the world's premier film festivals.
Applications for a Festival Lodging Rental License are available through the City of Boulder. Additional information, including participating property management companies, can be found through Visit Boulder.
