
In 2015 by this time year to date there were 16 units sold over $1M, and 1 of those was over $2M. Year to date 2016 there have been 27 units sold to date over $1M, and 4 of those were over $2M. This is almost a 68% increase in the # of units sold in this price range year over year. Sales over $2M were just 6.25% of the 2015 to-date market, while they are 14.8% of the market in 2016 to date. I think it is safe to say that in the first 6 weeks of the year the luxury market is picking up. Interesting though, the average price for the 16 sold in 2015 is almost exactly the same as the 27 sold in 2016 = $1.40M.
