The spirit of giving back is fundamental to everything WK Real Estate does. Our agents participate in more than 100 volunteer events and organizations annually, and to help support our agents and their causes, WK Real Estate donates to a variety of these organizations. Because 2020 has had a huge impact on many people's lives, we felt it was even more important to be able to support five amazing local non-profits.
Started in 1985, the Boulder Valley Rotary Club has approximately 70 members representing a wide variety of vocations and has raised more than $500,000 for local interests, including thousands annually to BVSD scholarships, and global charitable organizations. Club members participate in projects that have ranged from building early childhood education centers locally to eradicating polio globally. Blue Sky Bridge was established to provide a safe and supportive environment for abuse victims where a neutral, professionally-led forensic interview provides case information for all participating law enforcement, judicial and social service agencies. They are committed to serving both the children who enter the abuse investigation process and those children who have not yet found a way to tell their story. For over 25 years, Share-a-Gift has been providing toys, books, bicycles and many other items to children of low-income families in the Boulder Valley School District. Collections for gently used and new items start Thanksgiving week and the “Toy Shop” is opened mid-December for all eligible parents to come “shop”. We love how local this organization is, as well as how many girls and boys benefit from this great opportunity. Over 1500 girls and boys, birth to age 14, are served every year. The Inn Between provide supportive housing and promote stability to diverse homeless families and individuals by utilizing community resources, advocacy, and life skills training. Boulder Food Rescue aims to create a more just and less wasteful food system by facilitate the sustainable redistribution of healthy food that would otherwise be wasted to low-income communities, by bicycle. They work with over 20 donors to facilitate food redistribution to low income housing, food pantries, and senior community centers that use the donated food within 24-48 hours- while creating decentralized systems to bypass barriers to food access.
