This week, WK Real Estate is celebrating, teaching, learning, and growing during our annual retreat in Estes Park, Colorado.
Each year, WK gathers as a team to learn from one another, study in seminars, and grow in our understanding of real estate, current market trends, and future projections to continue serving you, our client, to the best of our abilities. This year, some of the top lessons, speakers, and activities included:
Keynote Speaker & Seminar Sessions
Our keynote speaker was Terry Watson. He has been in the business for over 20 years, and comes with a wealth of knowledge and insights. Terry gave a fantastic speech, titled “Recharge, Refocus, Reengage.” His talk was on the topic of Experience vs. Service. In it, he shared that the customer’s experience is much more important than the simple service of a business. One of the key takeaways was that top companies focus almost exclusively on crafting that experience for their customers.
Terry talks about the "monkeys" that everybody wants to burden him with, and how to stay responsible for only your tasks
Other speakers & topics included
Scott Peterson: “Top 10 Things” An Overview of 10 Different Legal/Risk Management Topics Impacting Realtors®
Pam Metzger: “The Price is Right… Relo Edition!” – WK Real Estate has held a strong partnership with LeadingRE for several years. During this humorous performance, Pam spoke about the benefits of our relationship with LeadingRE and how we can build it up even more next year.
WK Roundtable Discussions – Agents split into teams and talked about the current state of the market, as well as strategic ideas to help our clients “win” in the competitive housing atmosphere.

Newbie Skit
Another fun tradition at the WK Retreat is the “Newbies Skit!” New agents and staff work together to perform a show for the rest of the team. This year’s story follows an episode of “The Dating Game” for Realtors… One family is trying to sell their house, and they just can’t manage to find the best buyer to take it off their hands. So, they resort to asking your favorite day-time TV game-show to liven up the action on their property. What follows is a hilarious, multi-contestant competition to discover who will be the magic match between seller and buyers. Only one buyer will get this house, and they’d better bring their A-game to win; it’s a “steal” of a property!
Team Activities
The YMCA provides guided hiking, a team-building challenge course, and several other opportunities for team growth. With lots of activities to choose from, our agents and staff had a blast all afternoon. A few people went hiking. Several played interactive games together. And, some of us even saw a herd of wild elk on-the-move, as they prepare for winter in the mountains.

At the end of our two-day retreat, we have grown together as a team. Each WK Real Estate member learned some new skills, adventured in nature, and opened their minds to new ideas. We can’t wait to put our new insights into practice for you! So, give us a call or email when you need an agent with skill, care, and determination.
