This is my last year as President of the Library Foundation and I would appreciate your support if you have the time. The library is doing amazing things, for instance the recent Jaipur Festival, the New Makers Space, all the children reading programs, and so much more. On the evening of October 16th, the library is pleased to present:
Turning Ideas into Reality: The Public Library of the 21st Century.
Sponsored by the Boulder Library Foundation, this event will feature a conversation with Mark Frauenfelder, the founding editor-in-chief of MAKE magazine. Mark is an engaging and exciting speaker, weaving anecdotes and examples of the history of the Maker movement while painting a picture of what the future may look like.
"To be successful, you have to have quantity of quality." Mark Frauenfelder
Along with wine and hors d'oeuvres catered by Seeds, the evening will feature a tour of the new and exciting Maker Space. Maker spaces such as these are popping up all over the country, enabling people to collaborate and create in everything from textiles to 3-D printing. Our library is truly on the cutting edge of this movement by making our space open to the public at no cost. Please consider joining me on October 16th for this wonderful event and do not hesitate to invite other friends along.
