I recently heard the term “Framily” which was defined as “friends that become our family”. Here at Wright Kingdom we have a huge “Framily”! What an amazing sense of connectedness I feel at the response we got to our request to help us donate $25,000 to the Firefighters in Colorado. We not only reached our goal of 500 “likes or shares” in less than 8 hours, but we are still receiving “likes” and comments on our Facebook post and from others who shared it on their pages.
We all are bombarded with bad news at every turn, but something like this helps to remind us of the good that surrounds us, and that we need only ask for help and we receive it, abundantly! I grew up in Colorado and I don’t remember having wildfires of this magnitude.
Things changed about 10 years ago when we started having hotter and dryer weather which creates the perfect tinderbox here and in neighboring states. Watching the destruction to our homes and wildlife is beyond sad, it’s terrifying. And in the midst of it all are our brave firefighters, who not only travel away from their homes to save ours, but work in the most uncomfortable circumstances to protect and serve. Many of them are volunteers and take time off from their paying jobs to serve and protect. So we want to say a heartfelt “Thank you” to everyone who participated.
It’s great to know how large our “Framily” really is, and how much you care.
