At the end of the night, don’t forget to look up to the sky! You won’t see Santa, Rudolph, and the rest of the reindeer gang, but you will get a brilliant fireworks display! The night-time show kicks off at 7:45pm above the St. Vrain Memorial Building, and it will be the final event for Friday evening.
Saturday night:
Saturday, December 11th come back for even more celebrations, this time with the whole community out on the streets!
Starting at 5pm, the “Merry & Bright” Lights Parade begins at Longs Peak Avenue & Coffman Street. There will be dozens of floats, with faces aglow and lit up in twinkling holiday themes!
Floats will travel south on Coffman, turn east on Third Avenue, and then fly north up Main Street to Eighth Avenue.
Over 50 floats are registered to scoot down the road and grace onlookers with an amazing show of holiday lighting, soundscape engineering prowess!
Here is a lineup for the order of the parade floats:
In years past, WK has presented our own float for the parade. Our vehicle was a sleek, black Ford Model A400 from 1931. Fun fact: One of our founders, Lew Kingdom, still owns this awesome car!
Between each wave of floats, local school bands will fill the air with holiday tunes. We look forward to hearing from the talented band members of Twin Peaks Academy, Longmont High School, Mead High School, Erie High School, Silver Creek High School, and Niwot High School.
And, at the end of the parade, Santa will wish us all a good night!
*All events are outdoors. Be sure to dress warmly and bring a coat - Temperatures are expected to be around freezing and dropping as each night progresses.
