Home renovations don't have to be expensive to look nice! Here are some renovations for your home to complete on a budget.
Cosmetic changes
-Paint the exterior and/or interior: A new coat of paint can change the whole feel of the house and leaves it feeling fresh and clean.
-Laminate looking hardwood floors: Hardwood floors can get expensive. Laminate floors with a hardwood look are cheaper, look just as nice, and are quite durable.
-Change front door: Just like painting the exterior of the house, changing or even painting your front door leaves your home looking cleaner.
-Crown molding: Crown molding to a room gives a sense of elegance and is simple to install on your own.
-Change lighting fixtures (entrance way, kitchen, dining room): Changing up lighting fixtures brightens up the room. A more modern fixture will give the room a dramatic feel.
-Landscaping out front: Curb appeal is everything and can give passersby either a good or bad impression. Pull those weeds, trim those trees or bushes, and add a little color with perennials, trees, and shrubs that flourish in your climate.
-Get rid of popcorn ceilings: Popcorn ceilings are a thing of the past and are easy to remove. You'll need to scrape the ceiling and possibly add another coat of paint.
Kitchen
-Refinish cabinets and change handles/ knobs: Instead of buying all new cabinets, add a new coat of paint or stain. Change out the knobs and handles if the originals are a bit dated.
-Change counter tops: Changing out your countertops is a fairly easy renovation to accomplish and depending on the material you choose, it can be inexpensive. Concrete, quartz, laminate, and granite are all fairly inexpensive options.
-Apply a backsplash in the kitchen: Update your kitchen with a backsplash. No need to hire a professional, this installation can be done on your own.
Bathroom
-Change bathroom mirror: Say goodbye to the full wall length mirror and hello to something with a frame. If your bathroom has a his-and-hers sink, use two mirrors.
-Refinish cabinets and change handles/ knobs: Spruce up your bathroom with newly painted or stained cabinets and new knobs.
-Change counter tops: Update the bathroom counters for a more modern look.
