Home Mainetance Checklist 

As the season progresses now is a great time to do some home maintenance! Feel free to use our checklist to keep your home maintenance on schedule.

Early Fall:

• Yard Clean Up: rake leaves, remove branches and clear flower beds

• Fertilize lawn, sow grass seed if needed

• Inspects gutters and downspouts for damage

• Check room for damage and inspect for missing shingles

• Trim tree branches away from the roof and gutters

• Change furnace air filters

• Inspect fireplace, hire a chimney cleaning service

• Blow out your sprinklers

Late Fall:

• Remove remaining leaves from yard

• Clear out your gutters

• Install weather stripping and caulk as needed on windows and doors

• Remove screens, install storm windows

• Insulate pipes in unheated areas of the home

Winter:

• Change batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors

• Flush water heater to remove sediment

• Change furnace air filter

• Check space heaters and other heating devices to ensure safe operation

• Check ceiling for water stains

• Patch holes and cracks in dry wall

• Touch up interior paint

• Have a professional inspect and pump the septic tank

• Vacuum lint from dryer vent
