Properties that might normally be hard to sell—for example, those that back to power lines, a busy street, railroad tracks or a commercial property, or those with irregular lots or non-standard rooms—can probably find a buyer in the current market. It’s a unique opportunity. Inventory of available homes is so low that many buyers are willing to overlook imperfections that in years past might have turned them away. The market will eventually right itself, but in the meantime, challenging properties are likely to find eager buyers, and quickly, especially with 30-year mortgage rates below 4 percent.
