We live, work, and play here, which is why our company, agents, and staff are eager to participate in fundraising events and other activities throughout the year. Here's a recap of all the organizations and ways WK made the Front Range better in 2023.
Children’s Hospital Blood Drive
Blood banks are in desperate need to fill their banks with life saving blood donations for all blood types. WK hosted the blood drive bus early in the year and teamed up with one of our many partners to donate again this fall.
Habitat for Humanity
As a real estate company, we see the housing affordability struggles in our market every day. Habitat for Humanity builds better lives for people by making the American dream a reality for those who would otherwise be unable to purchase a home. This year we worked on a home with St. Vrain’s Habitat for Humanity.
BoulderBolder
Boulder celebrates Memorial Day like no other city! Sponsoring the BoulderBolder’s Legend of the Lawns contest for the second year in a row has been an absolute blast. Seeing so many dedicated runners, joggers and walkers in this family fun event is just the icing on the cake, as the celebration honoring our fallen military heroes is unmatched anywhere else in the state.
CU Scholarship
WK began our scholarship for the Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder in 2018. Each year we award two $2,500 scholarships to students who have financial needs in the local counties of Boulder, Broomfield, Weld, Larimer, Jefferson, and Gilpin. We were happy to continue this tradition of supporting higher education in 2023.
Boulder’s 4th July
Boulder’s 4th of July Spectacular, featuring drones in lieu of fireworks for the first time this year, is a company favorite. Hosted at iconic Folsom Field on the CU Campus, WK sponsors the drones and works in close collaboration with the City of Boulder and the University of Colorado to put on a memorable show every year. We love seeing the whole city come together in a time of celebration and joy.
Share-a-Tool
The Marshall Fire devastated so many of our local community members, impacting lives in so many ways. But when tragedy strikes, it also gives an amazing opportunity to see the resiliency, teamwork and compassion inside the human heart. Our agents supported the recovery efforts in so many ways throughout 2023, including supporting and donating to the Share-a-Tool event where affected families could replace lost tools at no cost.
Rhythm at Roosevelt
Longmont’s premier music and arts festival, Rhythm at Roosevelt, has been a fun and memorable event for the whole community for many years. WK sponsored the Welcome Wagon and met event goers at our booth. With so many talented musicians, this event is a Longmont favorite.
Rise Against Suicide
To address the staggering increase in youth suicides during the pandemic, WK teamed up with Rise Against Suicide to raise awareness and funding for youths struggling to afford and find access to mental health services. We participated in an opportunity to raise money and awareness via their Holiday Star Giving program.
Share-A-Gift
In December, we support one of our favorite local charities, Share-A-Gift, which provides toys, books, and bikes to low-income families within the Boulder Valley School District for the holidays. We specifically focus on donating STEM toys to help kids learn while they play, as well as volunteer to help this event run smoothly.
