Community Food Share is a non-profit food bank working to fight hunger in Boulder and Broomfield Counties by providing access to fresh, nutritious food through local partners and it's onsite and mobile pantries.
How Community Food Share Works
Members of the community, as well as businesses and government agencies, donate food that will be provided to families, seniors, students, and others. They also work to deliver millions of pounds of food per year to local food pantries to better reach members in their communities.

Community Food Share Fighting Hunger
Over 14,000 students in Boulder and Broomfield counties rely on free and reduced price meals at school; many of them eating breakfast and lunch at school. When schools close, it leaves many food insecure families needing to provide 10 more meals per week. With the current COVID-19 pandemic closing schools even earlier, this leaves these families hurting for food that much more.
In March of this year, Community Food Share distributed an all-time record amount of food, weighing in at 1.1 million pounds. This is a 48% increase compared to March of 2019. Community Food Share typically receives a large portion of their food donations through food rescue programs with local grocers. With the recent pandemic they have seen a 30-40% drop in the donations they receive.

How to Help
With the decrease in food donations, and the increase of families that need support, this has left Community Food Share needing to purchase much more food. In March alone, they purchased 233% more food than they buy in a typical month. This is why Community Food Share is asking for funds over food. $1 can provide 3 meals for these hungry students and families. Although these are hard times for everyone, we're happy to contribute in any way we can. If you're able to make any donation, please help us help these families in our community.
