According to the latest housing data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Colorado Springs and Denver have the lowest effective property tax rates among large cities in the U.S. The study, published by Roofstock, calculated aggregate real estate taxes paid against aggregate value of homes in each city. Researchers also calculated median property taxes paid, median home value, and median household income for owner-occupied homes. Results focused only on cities with 100,000 or more residents. Once again, Colorado performs well on the national stage, with Front Range cities taking three of the top 10 spots for lowest property taxes.
