Peak season for fall leaves is among us and it's something you don't want to miss in the mountains! Here are some great areas to get the best view of the fall colors in Boulder County.

Caribou Ranch
Caribou Ranch is located just north of Nederland and offers plenty of open space and trails to explore. For an easy hike with plenty of autumn colors, combine the DeLonde Trail and the Bluebird Loop.
Peak-to-Peak Scenic and Historic Byway
This 55-mile route from Black Hawk to Estes Park provides gorgeous views of the Rocky Mountains with stopping points along the way to take in the scenery.
Mapleton Hill
Mapleton Hill is one of Boulder's most historic and beautiful neighborhoods that bursts with fall color each year.
Wonderland Lake Loop Trail
Located in north Boulder, the Wonderland Lake Loop Trail provides stunning views of the colorful cottonwoods reflecting in the water.
Hessie Trailhead
The Hessie Trailhead offers several locations to view the colorful fall foliage. Located in Nederland, this trailhead is a popular access point to the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Devils Thumb, Lost Lake, King Lake, Woodland Lake, and Diamond Lake trails.
Brainard Lake Recreation Area
Surrounded by a subalpine forest in Ward, the Brainard Lake Recreation Area offers panoramic views of the fall colors.
Switzerland Trail
The Switzerland Trail is an old railroad graded trail in Boulder that offers views of the canyons below and the Indian Peaks Wilderness.
