Why is BOHO important to you?
It is pure giving, we do not want to die. We put a roof over the heads of formerly or currently homeless and feed them for a night.
How does BOHO use your contributions?
For approximately $10 we can house a homeless person and give them food. All of our staff are former homeless themselves.
What outcomes has BOHO seen through its work?
We are a safe haven/refuge for the homeless during the day and night. A place for them to go.
How can we contribute to the cause?
An understanding that homelessness in this country will increase. The average wage adjusted for inflation has stayed the same for the working individual, depending what you read, $45,000 to 450,000 per year. The price to live/survive has increase with inflation. A lot of people therefore drop into homelessness, though an injury, job loss, divorce, drugs, alcohol the list goes on. Us as a society have to come to terms with that, In addition we need to determine as a just society what to do about it Monetary contribution clearly is helpful, for $100 we can house ten pole for one night. But more importantly recognize that homeless people are that, they are people like us who are now homeless.
