9/11 20th Anniversary
Today marks 20 years since the attacks on September 11th, 2001 – This year, several events are being held in Colorado in remembrance of that day, the lives lost, and the lessons learned. Whether you call Colorado your home or not, we at WK Real Estate extend our hearts and thoughts to all those remembering this day.

As the anniversary approaches, Colorado communities have geared up to host events that memorialize the day in several ways:
Archuleta County: Pagosa Springs emergency response is hosting a 5K run, starting at 7:30AM.
Boulder: Jason King of Calvary Chapel is organizing a remembrance tribute in Bicentennial Park (999 Colorado St.) at 10AM. Mayor Kiernan McManus is scheduled to attend and speak briefly.
Broomfield County: A memorial ceremony will start at 9AM at the Broomfield Amphitheater, including remarks by retired NY Fire Department Captain John Fatta.
Denver County: The 2021 Denver 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will be held on Saturday at 1801 California St. However, this event is only open to firefighters and the registration limit has been reached. The event is limited to 343 firefighters, in reference to the 343 firefighters who died during the 9/11 attacks.
On Sept. 1st, The CELL in Denver: Hosted a "Tribute to the Heroes Concert." Governor Polis, Mayor Hancock, John Elway, and Peyton Manning were scheduled to attend and host.
Douglas County: Castle Rock residents can visit the two 9/11 memorials in town. One memorial is at Station 151 Fire Department. The other is at the Castle Rock Training Center (303 Malibu St.).
Jefferson County: The Memorial Stair Climb will happen at Red Rocks Park, starting at 8:46AM, the time when the first plane hit the North Tower in eastern time.
Mesa County: Praise Him Ministries is hosting a "Rise Up" Concert event at the Las Colonias Park amphitheater, featuring singers Chris Tomlin & Jordan Feliz, with a speech from former Navy SEAL Chad Williams.
Prowers County: Prowers County & Lamar city are hosting a "Day of Remembrance" tribute to honor first responders. The day kicks off with a parade at 10AM, followed by a flag retirement ceremony, and a barbecue around noon. The tribute ceremony will start at 1PM.
