Highlights of My Experience: Lois Purtell
I have been a Realtor in Boulder County for over 30 years and still enjoy every minute of every transaction! Each transaction brings unique and diverse issues, and I am constantly alert to the needs and hopes of each of my buyers and sellers. As an Agent, I am a dedicated advocate for my clients. It is my goal to help my clients understand all of the steps of the home buying and selling processes. It is also my goal to counsel and advise my clients so that they are satisfied that they have been treated with professionalism, respect and care.
Boulder’s real estate market is constantly changing and evolving, and it is my duty to be knowledgeable about issues as they surface. Therefore, I am constantly attending classes and seminars to keep abreast of the real estate world. After 30+ happy years in this profession, I have learned a lot, and hope to give my clients the benefit of my experience.
Considered an expert regarding schools, volunteerism, outdoor activities and of course, the Boulder County housing market and it’s history, I am fond of helping my clients understand and appreciate all that our community has to offer. As an involved community member, I am a strong resource for all of your needs; bankers, doctors, schools, restaurants, tennis lessons and sports clubs, philanthropy, shopping, C.U., and childcare.
I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan and earned my B.S. in English Education at Michigan State University. After college, I moved to Chicago, Illinois, and worked as a teacher in Chicago’s inner city schools. After moving to Boulder in 1976, I began my career in real estate in 1978. Moving to Boulder and becoming a Realtor were two of the best decisions I ever made.
My husband Tom and I live in North Boulder with our 2 dogs. We have three lovely children, all of whom graduated from the outstanding Boulder public school system. Our daughter, Elizabeth was recently married and lives in Ft. Morgan with her husband Michael. We also have two married sons, Michael, who lives in Seattle with his wife, Shannon, and David, who lives in Eugene, Oregon with his wife, Jamie, and our 2 grandchildren.
As a longstanding member of Boulder’s community, I enjoy so much of everything Boulder has to offer. I am a hiker, a gardener, and a general outdoor enthusiast. I also have enjoyed volunteering for philanthropic and charitable organizations. I have been involved with Boulder County Safehouse, Emergency Family Assistance Association, Blue Sky Bridge, United Way, and Mother House. It has also been my joy to be a class parent and room mother for my daughter’s classes for 18 years! Currently I am involved with The Humane Society of Boulder County, The Buffalo Bicycle Classic benefiting C.U., and The Center of the American West.
