David has been a Boulder area resident his entire life and grew up in Gunbarrel and South Boulder. He attended the University of Colorado, studying journalism, secondary education and history. While always anchored in the Boulder community, he has also worked in Texas and attended the University of Guadalajara. He currently resides in Westminster with his wife and stepdaughter. While David’s primary focus is Boulder County, he has also helped many clients in the Denver metro area and further afield.
First licensed in 2005, David’s real estate experience is far more diverse than one would expect. While studying at CU, he managed rental properties in Boulder’s near-campus neighborhoods of Wimbledon and East Aurora. Following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, he moved to the gulf coast to work in Southeast Texas as a FEMA disaster relief housing inspector. This experience gave him a better understanding of housing structural and mechanical systems, opened his eyes to real hardship and solidified the work ethic that was originally instilled in him by his mother and mentor, Cindy Maynard. In 2011, as the housing downturn was reaching its nation-wide peak, David again expanded his horizons by joining the mortgage industry, first as an REO specialist, managing, maintaining and preparing bank-owned properties for the market. That position soon led to yet another opportunity as a mortgage work-out specialist, advocating on behalf of troubled homeowners to help them stay in their homes through HAMP loan modifications, short sales and debt forgiveness plans. In his time in the mortgage industry, David gained an in-depth understanding of the mortgage application, underwriting, closing and servicing processes. David is dedicated to using his unique and diverse background to better serve his clients.
