Nederland, Colorado Community InformationLocated 17 miles west of Boulder, Nederland is the largest town (population near 1500) along the Peak-to-Peak Scenic Byway that runs 55 miles from Black Hawk/Central City to Estes Park. Nederland is distinguished by its mining history, the adjacent Eldora Mountain Resort, the award-winning Mountain-Ear newspaper and colorful characters, including the frozen dead guy. Winter visitors ski and snowboard at Eldora, or choose a nearby trail for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, and warm-weather visitors hike throughout the area. Nederland is a prime viewing spot in the fall for our gorgeous golden aspens.
