Since 1976, WK has proudly been helping individuals and families create their perfect home, whether it’s helping to find them or helping to build them.
Yesterday, we joined hands and hammers with Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley in Longmont for a day of building and painting. This amazing organization has been providing decent, affordable housing for low-income families in the St. Vrain Valley School District and Estes Park since 1988. In their last 31 years of service, they have built 100 homes and impacted 318 families. Our agents and staff volunteered more than just their time and effort yesterday, as they were a part of strengthening Habitat’s mission of “bringing people together to build homes, community, and hope” in our town.
Nine WK agents and staff spent the day building homes and making lasting memories in Poplar Grove out in Longmont. The day started at 9am with volunteer training and safety procedures, and then everyone put on hard hats, tool belts, and gloves for caulking, dry walling, and painting the rest of the day.
Being able to invest in our community to help it improve and succeed – whether it’s financially, work hours, or both – is so rewarding and humbling. Meeting and listening to the stories about the families moving into the units lets us know more about our neighbors we proudly live and work beside. This is #TheWKway!
