4th of July activities are always fun and shouldn’t just be for the 4th! Here is a list of activities happening in Boulder County throughout the entire 4th of July week that are a blast for the whole family:
Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast, July 4
Enjoy showstopping fireworks and amazing entertainment at Folsom Field, sponsored by WK Real Estate, the University of Colorado- Boulder, and the City of Boulder. Gates open at 7:45pm with live entertainment and fireworks start at 9:35pm. The firework display will be synced with music that can only be heard at Folsom Field!
Louisville Slugger Independence Day Tournament, July 3-7
For more than 20 years, Boulder has hosted an 180-team competitive girls softball tournament. They will be playing at the Stazio Complex and the East Mapleton Complex. They will also be playing in Broomfield, Longmont, and Louisville.
Bands on the Bricks, July 3
From oldies to alternative and everything in between Bands on the Bricks is Boulder County’s premier outdoor summer concert series taking place in the heart of Downtown Boulder and the Pearl Street Mall. It features an outdoor beer/wine/margarita garden starting at 5:30 pm.
Longmont Half Marathon and 5k, July 4
Every year Longmont hosts a 5k and half marathon on July 4th. Run through Flanders and McIntosh Park and make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen!
Longmont Firework Display, July 4
Longmont is hosting a firework display at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. Fireworks will begin at 9:30.
17th Annual 4th at Firestone, July 4
Firestone is hosting an all day community event, equipped with a parade, fun family friendly activities, and- of course- the fireworks. The firework display will begin at 9:30 at the Firestone Regional Sports Complex.
Dead and Company Concert, July 5-6
It seems this rock band can’t stay away from beautiful Boulder, Colorado. Making their annual appearance, the Dead & Company will perform at Folsom Field.
They are a rock band consisting of former Greatful Dead band members, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann, along with their company, John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti. Tickets are available for purchase and can be found here.
Boulder Farmer’s Market, July 3 & 6
This outdoor market has been a hub for local food and community for nearly 30 years. Unlike many markets, everything here is strictly local — grown or raised in Colorado. The market also offers a food court where you can buy ready-to-eat food from local restaurants. It some of the best gluten-free treats of any market around, from gluten-free cupcakes and muffins to loaves of bread and pasta. The farmer’s market is a cash only event, but there is an information desk to purchase some “market bucks”. On Wednesday it goes from 4pm-8pm and on Sunday it will go from 8am-2pm. This is located on 13th St from Arapahoe Ave to Canyon Boulevard.
Longmont Farmer’s Market, July 6
Bring your family and friends to this outdoor market. Organized by the Boulder County Farmer’s Market company, this award winning event is not one to miss! Shop from local food vendors and artisans while listening to local musicians. This farmer’s market happens every Saturday through November 23 from 10am-1pm. It will be located at the Boulder County Fairgrounds- 9595 Nelson Road.
