9 Things To Do With Kids Over Winter Break

Kids on their holiday break this week?  Need some fun entertainment ideas that get everyone out of the house?  Don’t worry, we’ve got your covered with these 9 great activities.

1. Kids Sports and Fitness Camps

Impact Sports Performance in Superior offers sports and fitness camps for kids while they’re out of school for the holidays. Full or half days sessions are available and the campers will get plenty of exercise through activities such as soccer, kickball, capture the flag, and more.

2. Volunteer

Have the family spend some time helping those in need within our community. To find places to volunteer, take a look at our “Ways to Give Back This Holiday Season” blog post here.

3. Visit a Museum

With a wide range of interesting historic collections, spending a day at the Longmont Museum will be both fun and educational. Take the kids to see the interactive Dinosaur Discoveries: Ancient Fossils, New Ideas exhibition, taking place through January 14th.

4.  Kids Art Camps

The Sunflower Art Studio in Boulder offers themed art camps for kids ages 6 and up. For 4 days, kids will learn how paint and use other mediums to create projects.

5. Trampoline Park

Your kids will love going to the  Get Air Trampoline Park in Longmont. With huge trampolines and things to do everywhere, they will stay entertained for hours.

6. See A Movie

Take the kids, or the whole family, to see one of the many great movies in theaters this holiday season. Head over to Cinemark Theaters in Boulder, Regal Cinemas in Longmont, or AMC Flatiron Crossing in Broomfield for a relaxing and fun few hours indoors.

7. Boulder Public Library

Grab the kids and head to the Boulder Public Library  to spend time reading and exploring all they have to offer! Also, the library will be hosting various holiday events for children and teens such as game and movie nights to keep them busy over break.

8. Go Ice Skating

Enjoy some classic winter fun and go ice skating at the YMCA of Boulder Valley or Longmont’s Roosevelt Park. Skate rentals are available when you arrive. All ages and levels are welcome at these community rinks, so throw on some warm clothes and get outside for a bit.

9. Pottery Painting

Head to Crackpots in Longmont for some artistic crafting time fun for the whole family. Choose a bare piece of pottery and paint it however you wish. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also experiment with glass fusing and mosaic making.
