7 Ways to Give Back on Cyber Monday

Shopping the deals this Cyber Monday?  This year, give a little while you shop when you purchase from online stores that donate part of their proceeds to non-profit organizations.  These company donate year round, so keep them in mind for other special occasions as well.

 

1. Cuddle + Kind

Cuddle and Kind was established with the goal of working against childhood hunger. Help support this cause by purchasing a handmade doll made by female artisans in Peru. The purchase of one doll provides ten meals to children in need.

 

2. Warby Parker

Warby Parker is an eyeglass and sunglasses brand. With their established Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program, the company works with multiple partners to distribute a pair of glasses to someone in need for every pair purchased.

 

3. Toms 

This popular shoe retailer works with over 90 partners to donate shoes, prescription glasses, sight surgery and medical treatment, water, tools needed for a safe birth, and bully prevention and response programs. Purchase a pair of shoes or one of Tom’s other products to benefit those who are negatively effected by the lack of these resources.

 

4. The Tea Spot

The Tea Spot is a local Boulder company that produces steep-ware and specialty whole leaf teas. Their mission is geared towards overall health and wellness and the benefits gained from whole leaf tea. The company’s founder is a cancer survivor who greatly benefited from drinking tea during her recovery, incentivizing  the company to donate 10% of all sales in kind to cancer and other community wellness programs.

 

5. Love Your Melon

This online retailer sells beanies, apparel, and other accessories in an effort to raise money for their partnered organizations working on cancer research and support. With the purchase of Love Your Melon products, 50% of profits will be donated to their partners.

 

6. Amazon Smile

Amazon Smile works just like your regular Amazon account.  Instead of going to amazon.com, login through smile.amazon.com.  Choose the charity you’d like to support and purchase as normal.  A portion of your purchase will then be donated to your charity of choice.  With millions of products that qualify for donation and nearly one million charities to pick from, this is a great way to shop while supporting a cause you’re passionate about.

 

7. Wallaroo Hat Company 

This Boulder based hat company is focused around the mission of preventing and eliminating skin cancer through proper protection. Annually, Wallaroo Hat Company donates 1% of profits to national skin cancer research, education, and prevention.
