In 2014, two-thirds of consumers were unfamiliar with smart-home services and products, and didn’t know where to buy them. Today, nearly nine in ten consumers not only know what a smart home is but want smart features in their homes. A survey of 1,000 U.S. adults conducted by Finn Futures found that:
- 77% of survey respondents expect to have a robot in their home within 20 years.
- 55% of respondents want a smarthome system that controls locks and doors, 44% want a smart thermostat, and 41% want smart lighting.
- 25% of respondents want a smarthome entertainment system, and 22% want a voice-controlled assistant.
